Modern slavery statement
200 years ago slavery was made illegal in the United Kingdom
Internationally there are still people suffering by being forced into slavery. As a result of human trafficking and other abuses, it is clear that forms of modern slavery are still happening in the United Kingdom.
Modern slavery is a complex crime that takes a number of different forms. It encompasses slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking. Traffickers and slave drivers coerce, deceive and force individuals against their will into a life of abuse, servitude and inhumane treatment.
At Sero we find the idea that someone may be forced to work against their will deeply upsetting. Whilst we believe that through the course of our work the chances of coming across victims of modern slavery is low, we will not hesitate to take action if we do.
We pay our team fairly, we treat our team well and we expect our partners to do the same. We will not do business with a partner or supplier we suspect would not do the same, even if that means turning down a great commercial opportunity.
